I am lucky to have a breeding pairs near where I walk a lot and I can pretty much see them on most walks and I have managed to id hotspots they visit and they have had 2 young this year, it is interesting that a see the females a lot more than males
 
In most cases but not all the female holds the territory and the male can come and go if the female allows him.
