CC Welcome
  1. Yes
I will say straight up I hate the overcast skys of the day of the outing and I really do struggle with it badly.
Is this an excuse well yes it is but it is also the truth of the matter.
So these are the best I could do under these conditions and I know they could and should be better.
So bring on Summer.
1 and 2 are Black Shouldered Kites the next 2 are Peregrine Falcons with number 4 being a fledgling and the last is a Australian Hobby with a young one.

Beautiful birds. I hate shooting into a sky like that. Sometimes I just come home and delete the lot. Nice job, you can't expect much more with the hand dealt.

I am so glad I am not the only one and if it wasn't for the Peregrine Falcon's I might had deleted them like you have said what you done.
But because my last name is tied to one of the sub branches of the Peregrine Falcons which I think it is the Indonesian one I just have that extra love for them no matter what they come under in the conditions.
I am no going to start to look outside before going and if it is this way I will turn around and go back to bed.

Thanks so much for what you said mate makes me feel a little better about these now.

Lovely shots Ralph despite the challenging conditions. I expect many opportunities would be missed if we all waited for perfect weather.

I know what you have said is so right. I just can't wait for Summer to be back with sky's that are blue and much better for our hobby in general.

Spot on about grey lifeless skies but you have made the best of the conditions available with a nice set of images

We have had these sort of conditions for quite a while and we have been looking forwards to finding birds in the shadows which before these are the ones we tried to avoid. But you have to make the most of what you are presented with on each day. Though I will admit to these conditions make it really hard for me to cope with.
