Went across the road to have a go with my a7ii as I have got a wetlands there and I want to get my camera set up for birding mainly.
I played with the focus setting to see just how well I went and these 2 shots are some of the better ones.
I really do need a longer lens than my 55/210mm lens I have now.
This is a young Purple Swamphen.

Nice work. I have found that my best shots are done with manual focus and a lot of patience. I just purchased the 200-600mm and have been experimenting with it. So far I am blown away. I have for the last several years worked with a Sigma 140-400mm lens and was for the most part very happy with the images I captured.

Went I had my DSLR and long lens I was on manual most times and enjoyed the shots I got.
I miss doing that and I will get back to it as soon as I can with the A7ii..
Thanks for your input as it good to know this as well.
