If you have heard the stories about temperatures getting so low that iguanas were freezing and falling out of trees in south Florida... well I can confirm personally that its true.
This morning coming back from my walk, I saw this guy "frozen" in 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Forgive the non-Sony picture:

They are not frozen solid, merely in a sort of suspended animation, like they're asleep, unresponsive to the touch.

Later when I went back to take pictures, somebody had moved him to the grass:

In the grass, and in full sun, he was starting to wake up a bit. I could see him breathe but he didn't blink as I walked around him taking pictures.

Went back during lunch break and he's awake now and has regained some colour!

I was visiting south Florida just these past few days. It was nearly freezing. I put on all the clothes I had with me and went for a morning walk. I saw one large iguana pretty stiff on the side of the road, sadly a victim of roadkill. Then I saw another at the sidewalk facing the road. I thought he was heading there so I moved him back a ways to save his life. He was quite stiff but woke up and jumped away to safety. I couldn't believe I was in Florida, it was 34 degrees outside!

Yeah I have been walking in the morning for the last 2 weeks and this unusual cold spell has made it VERY apparent that (like the Iguanas) I wouldn't survive living any further north :ROFLMAO:
