I use an A1 for wildlife (a lot of bird shots), airshow, sailing and powerboat photos and an A6700 for city type walk pics. I'm considering an upgrade to an A1ii but I'm not sure if it would improve my results enough to justify the cost. The A1ii price is dropping fast now so maybe soon.

Curious: when you do photo walks with the A6700, but have an A1 at home, do you ever feel like you're missing out by only having the APSC on you?

Welcome Dave, we have a few things in common. For one, the awesome name.

I also use an a1 and have an a6600. I also have a liking for birds.

I only really use the 6600 these days when travelling with limited hand luggage.

Despite my hearing being legendary, my eyesight is less good and I struggle with the lesser viewfinder. Otherwise, I find them pretty awesome. Then I discovered the a7cr, wow! But, again, the viewfinder is still no match for the a1.

I haven't succumbed to the a1ii as of yet. I don't see enough advantages and I'm a luddite. Prefocus users should be dunked in a lake, if they don't drown, they should be burnt as sorcerers.

Thanks. I find the A6700 26MP is fine as I'm usually fairly close to the subject and I don't need to crop much in post prod. I often have a 10-20mm lens on in built up areas so I can get the whole building in or the street. The largest prints I do are A3.

The most annoying thing is that the A1 and A6700 have different menus as the A6700 is the later model but I have Excel sheets for both to refer to if I have a memory relapse .
