I am not a big football fan either, but I will also be rooting for Norway. Every year they give the UK a giant Christmas tree, which is errected in Trafalgar Square in london, so they are good friends.

I wouldn't say that I hate soccer but I'm not a huge fan. As an Australian, all I'm really hoping for is that we beat the USA in a couple of weeks.

My family have never been into football, as a result I have my haircut by my wife's hairdresser. I have nightmarish memories of sitting in the Italian barbers on a plank perched on the chair arms. His fag never leaving his mouth, dripping ash onto my head as he jibber jabbered on about Keegan.

I did however play in the line for the school's and my firm's rugby teams. To this day, I don't understand the rules. My knees are shot and I probably drank too much beer out of watering cans to live very long, but I enjoyed every moment of it.

In the UK, you can't not be excited by the world cup, even if you don't follow football. I'll be supporting England, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Canada and Scotland, in that order. Hopefully, at least one of them will make it through the group stages.
