Could somebody help me with the following observation, please?

I have the rear display set so that it can be switched off, which is the way I normally use the camera.

I have noticed that when the camera is switched on, a few icons light up and then very quickly switch off. This is a well as the red light (Access lamp) flashing on and off (which I believe is normal).

Has anybody else noticed this behaviour with the icons and is it normal?

The display and the camera appear to work normally.

I am using Sandisk extreme pro 64gb SD Cards and the lens is a Sony 24-70 f2.8GMII

The icons flashing on and off does not occur every time the camera is switched on (it’s a bit intermittent) whereas the red light always flashes when the camera is switched on.

thanks

I will check my a1ii to see if the icons flash, I suspect it may be just something at startup and is normal. What red light are you referring to, is it the auto focus illumination light on the front of the camera? If so, you will find that most photographers turn that off as it can be a distraction, and turned on when needed.

Thank you for your reply.

The red light I am referring to is located on the rear of the camera and the bottom right. It is located on your A1ii to the right of the C4 button.
I believe this lights up when data is being written to the SD cards.

That is the camera determining if the cards are loaded with the filing system that Sony uses. Generally speaking it will blink longer when it needs to apply the file systems to the card than if it is already there.
