Good morning everyone,

Yesterday I got a surprise when I received a notification that DPD would be delivering my A7V, I thought it was not shipping until December 18th so a bit of a surprise and excited 😊.

Congrats! :) That must be a new record from announcement to shipping from Sony! Normally it's a good few weeks.

Yeah I could not believe it Tim, especially with the expected shipping on my original invoice.

This is the first time I have bought I new camera after launch and its funny with not being able to edit in lightroom and creator app does not recognize 😀

For most if not all of us, our first sighting of an a7v with anyone except on youtube. And you're the lucky man

Monday, 12-8-25 I will receive my Sony A7RV from FedEx and I can hardly wait. I recently received my Sony, F2.8 300mm, Master lens and it is the best lens I have ever used for low light indoor high action photography, when attached to my A7RIV camera body. I can't wait for the Wichita Wings Season opener on 12-28-25. After 47 years of shooting for the Wings, I have learned that I need to shoot wide open at F2.8 to get detail in the shadows, shoot at 1/2000 scecond shutter speed to stop ball action and shoot at AUTO ISO in order to accomodate for uneven lighting from above in the arena. as players move from one area of the pitch to the other. I would appreciate it if some of the high action, low light sports photographers shooting the A7RV would share their remaining settings with me so that I can to get the most out of my new to me Sony A7RV. Hi Shooter, wow 1/2000 of a second seems fast. I shoot ice hockey and for pro/college level I shoot at 1/1000 to 1/1250 and can freeze the puck traveling at 100mph as well as the players. Do you need to be that fast, slowing down a bit would let your ISO lower and reduce some noise. I shoot either an a7iv or a1ii, 70-200 2.8 GM and close it down one or two stops to improve DOF, and run auto ISO. Depending on the rink, lighting is a challenge. The higher the level of players the better the rink lighting. At our local rink shooting kids I am luck to get 1000 ISO even with slowing the shutter to 1/650 since they mover slower. My pro settings in a pro rink and I can get 400 ISO. Also, I custom white balance every game since there is so much white with the ice and boards. I always think it’s better to adjust in-camera rather than in post. The 300 you have is a GREAT lens. I like using the 70-250 since I think the rink is smaller than your field and it lets me action that comes close. Let me know your thoughts on this, I am always willing to learn something new.
