Here's a round-up of Sony Alpha deals this Black Friday for US and UK members.

Top deals include $500 off the a7RIVa and $300 off the FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS lens. In the UK the a7III is down to £1,299 including the £200 cashback discount and the excellent FE 200-600 lens is £1,329 including the £100 cashback.

A lot of these deals run throughout the year so I don't think there's anything to get too excited about, although I'm not sure if I've seen the a7III and 200-600 so low in the UK before now.

Have you been tempted by anything this week so far? Or have you already spent all your savings on the a1 or the new a7IV? :)

"Have you been tempted by anything this week......" the Mod asks? Well, let's see if I have a pulse.

Holy cow! This makes me feel better about my own photo-related expenditures during 2021 -- maybe not so extravagant after all! During 2020 I gradually developed a gathering of lenses to suit the kinds of shooting I usually do, and since I was starting from scratch with the A7R IV, having traded in all my Nikon gear in late 2019, that was a fairly expensive undertaking right there.

In 2021, the biggie, of course, was the A1..... Also earlier in the year, prior to that purchase, I finally delved a little into wide-angle shooting with the amazing 12-24mm GM and the fun little 20mm f/1.8, filling a gap that I'd had since getting into Sony FF. And, yeah, well, at the time I was finally getting the A1 in late August I couldn't resist the 50mm f/1.2 that the camera shop was just getting into inventory......those things were going like hotcakes and so I jumped at being able to get my hands on one immediately rather than having it continue to linger on my list. Some Voigtlanders also joined the family during the year as well, two macros and the fast 35mm f/1.2.

Now I'm giving my bank account a breathing spell here, plus just having fun using what I've already got, but probably in 2022 I'll be buying a couple more lenses that have been on my list but haven't been major priorities..... I'm also waiting to see if Sony indeed does bring out a new updated and superior version of the 24-70mm, and I'm betting they will. If so, that is a lens I'd snap up in a heartbeat.

For me, once I traded in all of my Nikon gear it was a matter of starting from scratch all over again.....takes a while, and I've been buying lenses and accessories as the need (or overwhelming desire) arises.
