I was going through an old hard drive where I had recovered most of the images I shot back in 2010, when I worked as a volunteer photographer for the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
I was actually looking for the original RAW file of this photo, but the only version I could find was the edited one I did back then. I think I shot over 25,000 images during those games. I had no real sports photography experience at the time, so I had to learn fast — it was trial by fire.
If I remember correctly, this was taken with the Canon 24–70mm f/2.8. The sun was harsh and it was right in the middle of the day, so the light was definitely challenging.
All things considered, I think it came out pretty well.
