Right time, right place......

I had an hour before sunset tonight and the light was good. Unfortunately, everyone else appreciated the light and the site was heaving. Experience has told me that the owls don't come close when there are too many folks about. Particularly if they're moving around a lot trying to get closer. Anyway, I sat and watched, as the light went down, I left and saw this one drop down about 10 metres away from me. If I hadn't notice him drop, there's no way that I'd have seen him. I nervously inched the car forward and got a reasonable shot. I had to drop the shutter speed as far as I dare in order to keep the ISO down.

It's not perfect, but considering the sun had gone down at this point, it's pretty amazing. The 600 F4 is a keeper.

The only editing is a slight crop.
