B&H has a Tokina SZ 600mm f/8 Pro Reflex MF on sale for $400
KEH has a single Minolta 500mm F/8 Reflex in "excellent" condition for $233 (I have an A-to-E converter)

I was saving up for a new macro lens, but the opposite end of the spectrum also interests me. I don't know what rabbit hole I fell into, but I was curious if these budget donut makers would be fun to have for lunar shots and occasional land-based telephoto needs. Thoughts?

I'd buy some good quality biscuits, something with some chocolate, cranberries maybe.

Sit with a cup of cocoa and contemplate.

That's money well spent.

Useless for terrestrial use and what difference does a few hundred mm make when you're looking at something that's light years away.

You're welcome.

The chocolate must be dark, perhaps from Askinosie or Amano? (ask me how I know....)

Oh! Don't forget a good single malt scotch!

Finally, there is no such thing as too many lenses. There just isn't. (again, ask me how I know).

Muaaahahahaha!
