Well I did myself a bit of damage this week.
I went to the Pentax site in search of an adaptable small 35mm lens - and of all places I encountered a Tamron Di³ 35/2.8 for the a7r2. Weather seals, 1:2 closeup = nice!
(Better still, the seller offered me a 28-60, which was next on my list!)

Then eBay hit me with a surprise win on an A-mount Tamron 35/1.8!
Oh dear, where did my memory go? How long ago did I bid on that?!?

So I get to choose between a somewhat bulky but faster SP35 (1:2.5 closeup) +ea3 adapter or a native f/2.8. 🤔

Experienced Tamron users, feel free to drop a hint on any features I might be missing -- thanks! (y)

If that Tamron 35mm f2.8 is the f2.8 Di III OSD, then I had the 24mm version. Good lens, nice pictures, slow autofocus, still worth the money. I found mine was best suited to nature walks, landscape and other genres where the subject wasn't moving too fast.

How that would compare to an adapted A-mount lens, I'm not sure. There are certainly some users here making excellent use of A-mount glass. However, I'm a fan of native mount so there's less to troubleshoot if something goes wrong and of course, less bulk.
