I'm getting deeper into the A7 IV as I set up my custom modes. Even though I'm not a Biffer I do like to try now and again. I've just started playing with the option to tie the light meter to the focus point. It strikes me that this would be a good way to make sure you're metering the bird as opposed to the sky. I've poked around on-line to find info, but other than setting it up in the camera there isn't much on it. Also seems like a good option for air shows.

It appears that on the 7 IV they've expanded the types of AF this feature works with, but if from what I can tell online the feature exists on several models including some APS-C, so feel free to chime in regardless of what you're shooting.

So, is anyone using this feature? What are the quirks? What recommendations do you have?
