I REALLY want this lens and I guess I need to also get a 2x tele. Think if I photograph my bank account with my current macro lens it'll make the numbers bigger right?

wow, I hadn't heard of this one, I'm behind on rumors. Wonder if its the lens that will be rolled out with / around the A7V? I'm guessing the rumored 400 f2.8 II potentially with built in TC will be delayed.

Me too! Remember, our lens still makes fabulous images if used correctly. Don't get too caught up in all the YouTube hype and excitement.

I have owned the 90mm Macro for a long time (over 7 years). Looks like Sony decided 10 years was long enough to replace supplement it

Lots of enhancements:

• 1.4 x magnification instead of 1.0x
• the focus ring push/pull MF switch as on the 90mm
• teleconverter support as on the 70-200 G II
• quad focus motors for speed

Impressive.

Sony Australia is offering a deal where you can get either TC for a substantial discount if you buy it with the 100 Macro GM. As in $799 marked down to $499. I already have both.

I just re-read this - this lens was announced on 30 September (yesterday or today depending where you live).

If they announce a lens with the A7V, it’s not going to be this one
