Today has been Hummingbird day… sitting in the garden photographing these aerial masters is just pure joy..
Female Ruby throated hummingbird is Ontario’s only hummingbird..
Thanks to the incredible speed of the Sony A9ii and 20fps and 2500th of a second shutter speed I was not only able to capture her but was able to freeze her wings

Nice set and very envious you can photograph them in your garden
 
Nice shots.
I spend many an hour shooting Hummers in my “south 40” as well.
 
As Slug has said, we really have nothing to compare to these here.
So we do look at them with wonder as in how can they hover like that and to know these are the only birds that can fly backwards as well.
Making them a lot more special.
