I have lived on this small lake for many years and this is the first time I've seen a Wood Duck swimming around in our waters....so cool! I hope that he or she becomes a permanent resident! In case anyone is wondering why the water looks like he's swimming in a vat of caramel sauce, it is because due to several recent storms the silt at th bottom of this manmade stormwater retention pond (yeah, not really a lake) was stirred up. I am hoping that this guy or gal hangs around so that I do more shots on a day when the surrounding scenery, including the water, is more flattering!
