I am fascinated by roads. Recently went on a 3000km road trip over a 10 day period and took a few road photos along the way. Would love to see others post scenic roads

That does look like a beautiful place to drive. I spent a little time driving over the Alps whilst living in Germany. One of my favourite passes was the Susten Pass that goes up to 2260M in elevation. This isn't the best photo, it was back in 2016 and I think I was using the RX100 at the time.

These are all great shots! I have a nice desert sunset road, but it's with my Nikon SLR so I can't post it. The only Sony I use is 200-600 for wildlife, so I rarely have non-wildlife images to post on this site.

I think Tim should make an exception. I mean after all, it would be nice to show everyone every now and then what happens when someone doesn't shoot with Sony... 😜

Okavango Delta bridge at the Kwara Airstrip.
Hole intwall Pub. Bowness on Windermere Lake District
2 of my favourite places on Earth.

How are you enjoying that new Sony lens Tracy? 🌞
I imagine you are asking about the 11-20 2.8?? That is actually a Tamron lens that I got specifically to go to Scotland in the fall of '21. I took it with me to Africa as well as the Sony 16-55 and the Sony 70-350. I love the lens.....I just don't use it as much as I'd like. It has to be a pretty specific scene for me to shoot that wide. The Sony16-55 G is almost always on the camera though.

Oh it is a Tamron too. I just seen E 11-20mm and straight away thought it was the new Sony without considering the B060 bit...

I had ordered the 16-55G for my A6400, then before it came in I made the decision to go full frame instead. That's a lovely lens combination you have there, I do have a soft spot for the A6400 though, it has everything you need and nothing that you don't. I always wish I didn't sell mine and in all honesty still contemplate buying a new one every now and then...

I apologise for the hijacking Etienne. 🥴

I don't mind if the odd none Sony image is posted now and again, it shouldn't break the forum :D

This road swings by the loch in Kinloch Rannoch, but the fog on the loch (behind me) meant the view of the road was more picturesque.

The road approaching the Tahoe Valley....

No all roads are equal. This is a road in Chobe National Park in Botswana. The Park authorities are quite strict about not allowing any off-road driving in the Park.

You were flat out trying to make a decent image out of that one Etienne... 🤯

We drove from Cape Town to Windhoek and other places, over 20 years ago now; absolutely loved it --- sadly all of it was on film and was lost to me some years ago. Even if I could do all that again, it has changed, I saw lots of tarmac roads are there now in Namibia - so not quite the same raw and very sandy experience, alas. Still, as long as we can remember it's all good, and then we won't know we forgot!

Still more than enough sand and gravel roads to be found, you just have to know where to look and be willing to take a few detours 😊
