I shot a softball game this afternoon. I thought it would start an hour before sunset but it actually started 30 minutes later so I switched from my Sony 100-400 to the 70-200 once the ISO was getting pretty high. These shots are edited jpegs from the camera. I'm looking forward to the time change so that I will have more daylight and can increase the shutter speed.

Nice shots, jpegs are looking pretty good!

I have shot RAW+JPG the last few outings so that I would have the Raw files if there was a shot that needed more editing but since these are mainly to post to a photo gallery on the school website it takes much less time to edit the jpegs (cropping, etc). I've been happy with the results but still process the raw files when I shoot wildlife and such where I pare down the number of photos more.

I shot the last softball game of the season last night with the Sony 100-400 and 70-200 OSS ii both with and without the 1.4 TC.

Between innings I talked with the infield umpire some. In one of the last innings a batter was called out by the home plate umpire. After the coach complained that the ball had hit the batter's foot while in the batter's box and that it should be a foul ball. The infield umpire told the home plate umpire that he saw the ball hit her foot as well and the call was changed. After the inning he asked me if I had gotten a shot of that at bat and I showed him that he was right.

Nice shots. I am sure you knew you were getting the bat-on-ball and ball-on-foot shots.
The batter bunting really needs to adjust her hold or she is going to break a finger.
