Doesn't say if that's 126 x 3 layers for 42 x 3 layers = 126.

So kind of like do a pixel shift but using layers and merging them...

The big advantage is instead of it taking 4 pixels (2 green, 1 red, 1 blue) to collect the colors, all pixels would collect all colors via the layers. I think this is kind of like the Foveon sensor Sigma played with a while back. The resolution increases because a given number of pixels is actually a given number of pixels.

Nah, I think this is some commercial something, if it's even true. Seems like the cost would be so high it'd put it out of reach.
