Wow, both absolutely epic pictures. The first one is my favourite.

Not normally birds I photograph much, but there was a bit of waiting around in hides today, so I grabbed some flight shots of gulls (of which there were hundreds!) That look says it all...

This drake was just checking out the new nest box with his hen. They flew down to the water and promptly mated. I guess they liked their new apartment!

These are my first ever BIF shots. Taken on my few days away down the coast last week. I had hoped there would be more birds in the air but they were letting water out of the barrage so most of them were in the water fishing.

Good birds to start with. Next try ducks.

Illusion of Speed"

Yesterday I was at Valleyfield Pond 10 mins walk from my house to see if I could see the resident kingfisher's....I met another photographer and we had a good old blether.

I wanted to try to create the "Illusion" of the speed that they fly so opted for a slow shutter speed to create this effect."

I don't know if that says speed to me, but it does say impressionistic beauty.

Lovely creation.

White-bellied Sea Eagle.
Mersey River Devonport Tasmania.
WOW! I reckon you'd be pretty lucky to even see one of these in the wild yet alone take such a great photo of it.

Here is one I took at Richmond park London UK.
Sonya7r4. with 200-600 , I do hope you all like it as all the one I seen are top photos

Australia's largest Eagle which is the sad for these shots as it was moving away and I am still learning inflight stuff.
So I am sorry for the poor quality, but it is always good, as I see it to get a shot of one.
Only wished these were far better, as the shot were a long way from it.

You got to start someplace and you will never stop taking crap photos of BiF you just get more winners among the crap.

Interesting you should say that as they are quite common in the NW of Tasmania. There are a number of family groups not far from where I live.

Yes, the secret is to only show the good stuff!

You're very lucky. I believe there are some around the Coorong but rarely seen. I have some pics of a rescued one on Kangaroo Island many years ago. They are beautiful birds.

Boat-tailed Grackle - I watched this bird for several minutes perched on a tree branch. The blues were glowing in the sunlight. I decided to photograph it when it took flight. Boat-tailed Grackles have 10 or more songs, but the meanings of the different song types are not well understood. Males sing throughout the year, and females rarely sing.
