This is an excellent set of BIF shots. Beautiful and well shot. The clurs on the duck are astonishing.

I have experimenting with the 300 mm GM with 1.4 and 2.0 TC. I am getting ready for a birding trip to Texas and want to take minimum weight and gear. I am really enjoying this lens.

Seagulls at Harlyn Bay Cornwall. These were my first experiments at taking birds in flight. They were taken on 3 June 2026 at around 15:00. I was up on the cliffs overlooking the sandy beach and the sea. The seagulls came swooping in from the sea down to the beach. I assume the second image is of a youngen, while the last image shows a seagull diving onto the beach for some fish and chips.

Thanks Ed, I used the 2.0 TC for these photos. I was across the inlet, so a fair distance away. I used a significant post process crop so I would not be able to get a very large print. My 400-800mm would have been a better choice but again I am seeing how light I can travel. I am actually considering the new 600mm GM for my birding walks.
