A very nice morning here but sadly at the end of the season for most birds but the locals are still about

Seagulls at Harlyn Bay Cornwall. These were my first experiments at taking birds in flight. They were taken on 3 June 2026 at around 15:00. I was up on the cliffs overlooking the sandy beach and the sea. The seagulls came swooping in from the sea down to the beach. I assume the second image is of a youngen, while the last image shows a seagull diving onto the beach for some fish and chips.

great shots. Can you please clarify, which had which TC?
Thanks Ed, I used the 2.0 TC for these photos. I was across the inlet, so a fair distance away. I used a significant post process crop so I would not be able to get a very large print. My 400-800mm would have been a better choice but again I am seeing how light I can travel. I am actually considering the new 600mm GM for my birding walks.

This is a little old but when you don't feel like doing other things. So this is a short video made of 58 images. I had hope that this was a series of shots I would get.

Yea! The hummingbirds are still hanging around (presumably to amp-up for the remainder of their journey south)...

Looking out over the ocean in the Algarve of Portugal near Lagos while hiking the Fisherman's Trail. I only had the 35-100 lens, but I wanted the group photo.

Yours are so much more fore giving than ours. I can't get closer than 150-200 ft. Then they are gone. Such a lovely bird!

you might think this is a close up shot but the original file 108 mb and the edit is 1.8 mb

Been a while due to lots of travel, but I got out and found this Northern Harrier over pond that was full of Canada Geese. It was a perfect day out there: clear and 60F.

Red Kites over the Pig in the South Downs, just above my room (The Apple Store). Just not quite enough reach, unfortunately I had just changed my lens from the 300 + 2x TC to the 70-200mm when this guy and his friends appeared very high above me. These images are heavily cropped so I was surprised I managed to get anything out of them.

If you are ever in Yorkshire visit Harewood grounds, you will only need the 70-200 there. Went some time back with the 200 600 think they were trying to land on the end of my lens.
