Do we have anyone that likes shooting flowers? Favorite lens to use with Sony? I’ve used the lensbaby velvet 85 and the Helios.

Wet Window & Amaryllis Flowers In The Rain .jpg

I can't remember the name of this one but its an Australian Native from a shrub.
The flower is only the size of your thumb nail.

I think I needed a polarizing filter to cut down on the glare on the leaves. I'll try to remember to bring one next time.

I use Sony A7R4 with Sony 90mm macro lens. Excellent posts in this thread.

One of my favorite combinations is the A7R V and the 90mm f/2.8 macro. The day I made the switch from Nikon to Sony back in 2019 my first full-frame Sony body was the A7R IV and the lens on the top of the list for immediate purchase was the 90mm macro. The two of them were all but inseparable, and when in December 2022 I traded in the A7R IV for the A7R V it didn't take long for the 90mm to begin spending a lot of time on that camera. They're just made for each other.....

I totally agree with you relating to the combination of A7R 4/5 with the Sony macro 90mm lens. However, I can tell you this: The new Canon RF 100mm L lens is just as good. The advantage of Sony's 61-megapixel resolution nevertheless beats Canon R5 with Canon RF macro lens.

Here is a good example of 61-megapixel resolution.

Gee, thanks for suggesting that other images shared on this thread aren't "good examples of 61 MP resolution...." Of course your image is superior, right? I guess you haven't heard of artistic choices and decisions. Not to mention that some people are much, much better at manipulating images in Photoshop or other editing software than the rest of us.....

I think you need to read a post in the right context. All I am saying is that A7R4 's 61-megapixel tends to crush the competition when it comes to resolution. There are times when we utilize that detail. Nowhere I am suggesting that other images (either here or else where) are NOT utilizing the full capabilities of a camera. Go back to my earlier post in this thread where I am applauding the posts.

FYI, there are pictures of mine on this board that do not show the sharpness but contour of subject(s). Example attached. Probably you will flame me for this as well!

Sorry, I was feeling a bit out of sorts and for some reason your post just hit me the wrong way. Apologies for snapping at you like that!

Spring is very close here. The snow drops, winter aconite and the bees are pollinating the Tommy's.

I'm not super happy with this picture, but I want to transplant my orchids to a palm tree in a similar fashion, so I snapped this photo without much thought.

I'm honestly not even sure where I let the autofocus settle on. Could I have cropped it better or zoomed in to isolate the blooms better to avoid blemished leaves distracting the eye?

Quick shot of a peach blossom using focus stacking of 6 shots with an a7RV and Sony 100-400 lens.
