Hi, I'm Gary, based in central Texas in the Austin area. I've been shooting since the early 1970s; first with an Instamatic, later an SLR, and then a DSLR. Did some experimenting with early digital cameras, including a Sony Mavic digital that had incredible glass and an impressive zoom. Images were a stunning 1.2 megapixels and recorded on a 3.5 inch floppy disk. You could get about a dozen full resolution images on a disk, and I thought it was an incredible breakthrough, as I could get "film" almost anywhere, even a drug store. I later shot with a Panasonic bridge camera and eventually a Nikon DSLR. I have - well, make that HAD - been doing an increasing amount of international travel for my work and wanted a more easily transported camera and late last year, got a Sony a6600 and that's become my primary camera. I'm sure I'll sooner or later add a full-frame Sony to my lineup.

I'm really glad to see this forum - I expect it'll be a great resource to the community.
