I've set Shutter Sound to off and using manual it is fine and silent. But in IA is is still sounding??
So perplexed??

I'm not that familiar with the A6700 but if it's using the Mechanical Shutter rather than Electronic Shutter there will be a noise whatever the other settings are.

Spot on. IA may default to mechanical shutter and override some manual settings that you make.

With an advanced camera like the A6700, the last setting I would be using is IA anyway…

Your timing on this comment is a funny coincidence, and I agree. However I am diving this week in Cayman Brac with my Sealife DC2000 and have it setup for underwater. I jumped in and my dive buddy was screwing around with some piece of gear on the back of the boat while I was getting battered by waves from 22 MPH winds. I wanted a quick shot of him still on the boat and remembered, hey quick change to IA will work. Exposure was perfect, but got hit with a wave just as I hit the shutter and got half the shot framed. It’s 0630, last day of diving, no good photos to speak of yet, maybe get something today and and will post in the non-Sony section.
