Sony A6400 Lens compatible with my old Sony NEX-C3 not locking on my new A6400?

I bought the A6400 as a replacement for my old Sony NEX-C3 with the understanding I could use my four lens from the camera with the new one, but when I try to attach the lens to my new camera the locking pin will not engage. Do I need an adapter?
