The 2.1 firmware for the A1 is up on Sony’s site now. If you have 2.0, you can save your settings and install 2.1. Earlier saved setting still don’t work.

The 2.0 firmware for the A9 III is showing on my local Sony site, but the link is broken

Link for A9 III is working now.

Ooh - nice - can be updated from memory card.

It’s a 1.1GB file, though!

Still nothing interesting for the A1

Reading the release notes, the only change is:

Update overview.
Fixes an issue where the camera may not be able to connect to the network after installing the system software update for Ver. 2.00. We apologize for the inconvenience.
This update also includes the benefits from the Ver. 2.00 update.

I've updated the A1 as well as the A9 III. I'll be rebuilding my setup on the A1 tomorrow - the v2.01 update still wipes your settings (I had hoped they mighta fixed that, but it's a big nope)

Not of interest to me but it states the grid option may be a paid option, as they did earlier with other models

updated 2 a1's today one on 1.1 and another on 1.32 without issues , was wondering if anyone has had time to do any bird eye tracking tests yet ?

Out of interest I wondered what the experience has been like for these updates.

The Sony A1 my update went without any issue.
Have rest all my customisations.

Additional points of interest not mentioned in the update.

Prior to this update when I half pressed the shutter the EVF would become noisy. I had previously searched for this issue and it seems it was widespread with no solution.
After update this issue had been fixed the EVF is perfect on all 3 settings.

Additionally, I have a Samyany 45mm 1.8F prime (my only non Sony Lens). When operating with continuous autofocus the lens now hunts and takes about 5 seconds to focus. I've ordered the Samyany lens station to update the lens from Ver 6 to 7, will see if that fixes the issue. If not I'd guess Samyany will need to update their lenses.

Angus.
