Sony a9 and 100-400 experiment all shots with lens stabilization turned off

As title all shots have been taken with lens stabilization off, I am new to this lens and wanted to see if the lens stabilization made much difference, a bit of a shock for me I think the lens works well with the lens stabilization turned off, all shots are static but for the 2 gulls. please add shots or comments. sorry quit a lot

I think your shutter speed is high enough to render stabilization unnecessary in these examples.

Possibly I had noticed the shots seemed worse with stabilization on

I read somewhere about turning off VR when you can get a high shutter speed.. and I think you proved that point..

I generally use my 200-600mm with stabilisation turned off. For some reason the AF works slightly better like this.

Keith when I got this lens, I could not really get a sharp shot until I turned off the lens stabilization, I will now admit to one fact I did not state at the start, some of these shots were also dmf with focus peaking on, it occurred to me that maybe we have all become accustomed to just believing we need these features all the time

Focus peaking is very useful.. I use it all the time when I’m shooting macro or product stuff..
