Sony A7 III Strange image artifacts or ghosting.

Not sure what happened on this shot or how to explain it. Shot with a Sony A7 III and the Sony 200-600mm G lens.
Anyone seen something like this before or any thoughts on what caused it?

That's actually kind of cool, albeit an unwanted effect.
 
I think it's called rolling shutter. Are you using mechanical or electronic shutter? I happens sometimes when using the electronic shutter.
 
Thanks Jessica. I think that may be it. I remember I had turned on silent shooting. I've only had the camera for a while and that was the first time I had used silent shooting. I would not have expected this result. though.

When applying the rules of aerodynamics while observing the bird’s wing configuration in the photo, the bird should have been flying in tight concentric spiral circles clockwise when the leading-edge of right wing faces to rear. But if bird was flying in a straight line, then Jessica is probably correct.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. It’s a hazard of being a pilot. I promise, it won’t happen again. I have to quit drinking wine before noon (and before flights). 😡
