These are one of the bigger Cockattoo/Parrots we have got in Australia.
And it is always pleasing to get a shot with their crest up

Just one warning if you ever get the chance to be near this and it is never and I really mean never stand under a tree that a lot of them are in.\
These are known to drop branches about the width of a couple of finger. So image one of them dropping on your head.
They do take great delight in doing this as it seems like a challenge to them and they can take about 3 foot off the top of a tree in no time.
Once we were at the river fishing and a mob of these showed up and we had to leave as we were in dangers as was our car.
But this said I think they are a great bird and I think that in captivity the can live up to 75 to a 100 year old while in the wild it is about 45 years.

Haha. Very unlikely I will ever get to Aus now. They are very intelligent birds though.
