This should keep all you MP freaks happy.

Well, Fuji have the 102mp Medium Format Sensor, and it was long rumoured that Canon had a 100mp sensor (I was told by an insider 3 years ago!) so it will come. Everyone will moan about high ISO noise, atmospherics etc etc and we will follow the same path as the A7RIv :D

but why 80-100 mp? new camera, new memory cards , new laptop , more storage required and so on
To keep up with the Joneses? 🤷‍♂️

I honestly thought they'd bump the A7R V to 80, but then Sony seems to reuse a sensor for at least one more camera these days.

These may be medium format sensors too, there's no other info.

Meh..... XF IQ4 150mp exists so 80 or 100 is just child's play.
Medium format, yeah. But if it turns out to be FF, it may herald an entirely new era of cropping your ass off!

If nothing else it'd be interesting to see how well they can handle noise on a 100MP FF sensor. That'd be the same pixels density as Panny's GH6 and G9II, which by all accounts isn't very good.

OOOOOOOOooooooo! One of the commentors at SAR is suggesting that the 80 will be in the A1ii with the A9III moving to 50.

Now that'd be something pretty cool.

7R = resolution without speed
9 = speed with lower resolution
1 = top resolution and speed. And cost.

But since Sony never does anything like that... 🤬

That would make sense and should make everyone happy. It is unlikely then 😂

No, but you know Sony won't go the whole hog :D
