Hi Everyone, today I went on my very first ‘Kingfisher’ shoot, run Professionally by a great Pro-Photographer I’d spent some time with before.
my expectations were…… if I can get a couple of half decent shots, I’ll be happy! I‘d read how elusive and quick! They are, and being my first attempt to say I was a little worried Is an understatement.
I‘ve ended up taking nearly 2000 pictures, which will take me a while to go through. lol
but I thought I’d share a few with my Peers 😊😊

they may not be the best images, but to me I’m Amazed. So don’t be too harsh! 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

These are absolutely atrocious. You should be ashamed of yourself! My dog could take better pictures than this with her squishy camera chew toy...

Terrific pictures. I still think the kingfisher is one of the most beautiful birds out there. I am going to visit my relatives in the UK next year and hope to book a hide for a day or two.

Oooooh! That's cold!

Cracking set of images Al , looks like a site in North Shropshire ?

Excellent results, do you have details. I'd like to book this for my wife's birthday.
Hi Dave, the Pro-Photographer I went with, is called Lindsey Bucknor, from the Wolverhampton area, he does occasional day shoots like this, he comes along to just guide you and give info, he doesn’t do any photography himself on the day.

Here’s His Website address….. https://www.lindseybimages.com/photography-workshops.html

the actual hide is owned by a Friend of his, but I don’t have any details for him I’m afraid, but they are building quite a fabulous setup, with more things in the pipe line.

the Estate it’s on is a very Private Country Home, which is in a Spectacular setting.

These are some great shots!

Perhaps you could start a Kingfisher themed thread where we could all add our various Kingfisher photos?

Great set of shot and I think that you are the one being harsh on yourself.
I would be so happy to have this set in a folder on my laptop, so very well done.

Many Thanks Ralph, I was actually very pleased with the results, but I think we all suffer from not believing in our abilities occasionally 😉😊😊😊

Awesome shots Al! It looks like Mike Dunlevy's hide :) He does have a fantastic setup there and the grounds are spectacular as well. Last time I went it was during covid so I had the hide to myself :)
