Your Photo of the Week

A pair of Hooded Mergansers on our little lake -- first we've seen any this autumn! Hopefully they will be with us all winter and into the spring. This pair was actually swimming forward but looking back to be sure the other three Hoodies were also following....

A Barn Owl with his catch at St Benets Abbey this afternoon. I wasn't expecting to see one, let alone the three we did see (definitely 3 different, they were all hunting at once!) Heavy crop as they didn't get close (well not until it was too dark for photos :D)
Very nice Kev. We have one around by us I just haven't spotted it yet!

Haven't fully identified this yet. I am edging towards a Rufous-winged Cisticola.

The engine of my best mate's car he has been building for two years. Project has just been completed. 2001 Nissan S15 Silvia. SR20DET, 872rwhp. No expense spared from top to bottom of the car. Unbelievable.

Will be doing a full photo shoot of it in the next fortnight.

Beautiful shot Dave! I'm terrible at bird id's but it does look very much like a Rufous-winged Cisticola according to Google! :)

Very nice. Can't wait to see some more shots Clint.

Week 44. The weather hasn't been favourable for native wildlife this week, and we wanted to get a final zoo visit in before our passes expire, so this is a shot of Enif at Banham Zoo today. She lost her eye as a cub, and has coped admirably since. She certainly had her one eye trained on me today :D

Very nice Kev. She's definitely got her eye on you! Did the eye AF still work?

Not that I noticed, but I have mine set on Human anyway, otherwise I lose tracking (not that I needed it here of course). I only use 3 modes now.

We had some low clouds and fog yesterday morning. This was shot shortly before visibility dropped to about 10 feet.

I see you already have your paws on an R5 mate! 🥳
Yep :) Only had it a couple of days and the weather has been awful since it turned up. I'm fortunate to have the a1 so don't really need it but there are a few articles I wanted to create for my blog. I might sell it afterwards although I'm also thinking about experimenting with renting some of my gear out in the UK next year and I'm sure it will be a popular camera to hire.

I'll swap you for a Toblerone and a bag of Haribo

Fair enough, you're obviously happy for people to use your equipment. You don't have any concerns with that?

I'll make sure there is some sort of insurance in place before renting anything out. I probably would't rent out my A1 which I use the most these days, just the other cameras I've collected and a few lenses that I don't use so much. If it made financial sense then I'd purchase some more gear purely to rent out. There are only a couple of large rentals companies in the UK to compete with and I know I can undercut them. It could just end up costing me money but it's one of those things that you just need to have a go out to find out for yourself.

What! You're a wrong'un! Has to be the new Gold one.
LOL. I could probably force that one down too! :) Need to save room for mince pies this month though!

Good on you mate. I guess if there's a market there then you may as well take advantage, especially when you have a little stockpile there that isn't doing anything. ✅

Week 45. No play fighting this time. This was a proper fight between 2 sows at Horsey yesterday, fighting over the newborn pups or the territory they were occupying.

Can't believe you didn't try to break it up Kev... 🥺

I certainly wouldn't like to come between them! Cracking shot Kev.

Cheers Clint and Tim.
No way would you want to get close. They literally gouge each other with their teeth.

Work it baby
