So, I went to a Sony "Ask an expert" coffee morning on Friday which was organised by Diamonds Cameras here in Adelaide.
Anyway, the weather has been good for a few days - even though we're three weeks into winter and it was the day before the winter solstice, we've been having sunny, clear blue skies and temps around 20-21ºC. So I thought while I'm in the city I'll venture down to the Botanical Gardens and finally try out my Maven 720nm Infra Red Filter. Now, having done a bit of research (there is also a previous thread on here from about 6 months ago) it appears that Sony cameras have quite a strong Infra Red Cutting filter on the sensor so they aren't the best models for this but I gave it a go anyway. The results straight out of camera look like others I have seen but following PP workflows my colours were way different to, say, Fuji cameras. Anyway, after some experimenting, here are a couple of the better ones. One thing I did discover is that the direction the camera is pointing, as compared to where the sun is, has quite a big bearing on the result. Although these two shots were a few hundred metres apart, the camera was pointing in basically the same direction. I haven't tried processing anything in mono yet.
