Very cool. We had loadshedding in Jamaica where I grew up, but never thought to use that time for celestial observation.
BTW, What is lighting your foreground?

I lit the foreground with a torch, pointed away from the subject, i.e. no direct light on the subject and switched on for only about 2-3 seconds of the total 13 second exposure
 
I have been trying to photograph aloes in a way that shows off their rugged beauty for years and all previous attempts have been boring, so this is a double win for me.
True, most people don't even know they flower!
