International traveling with the SONY 600mm F4

Hey Folks

Does someone here own the mighty 600 F4? I am thinking about getting one myself again (already had one for 6 months last year and sold it again). My issue was that I was thinking it's not possible to travel with it, but now I miss this lens and feel like I need it and will find a solution for transportation within the airplane.

Any experiences with that and how to do that?

It's too big for carry on luggage. That's one of the reasons I opted for the 400/2.8 which fits in a complying camera pack.
It performs very well with both TCs.
