Peregrine Falcon (my first)
I hope you like this image.

Three versions - I'm looking for the best format for this community.
3840 pixel width (3,706 kb)

  • ILCE-1
  • Sony FE 200–600mm F5.6–6.3 G OSS (SEL200600G)
  • 600.0 mm
  • ƒ/6.3
  • 1/500 sec
  • ISO 320

2560 pixel width (1,659 KB)

1920 pixel width (404 KB)

Can you see a difference between the different size images? Does one look sharper than the others? Please ignore the watermark on the last one. I didn't mean to include that.

I just went through a webinar from Capture One about sharpening images. Apparently, if your final image has to be scaled when viewed or printed, you can lose sharpness.

I've been posting 4k images up until now, but if smaller images look as good or better, I'll start doing that.

And here's one more to enjoy.
3840 pixel width (it's carrying its prey)

  • ISO 2000

My phone probably doesn't mean a great deal. But the top two look very close with the 3rd one looking a little less detailed.

Checking on the phone. Only the 3rd one looks slightly less detailed but it's noticeable just because you mentioned it.

Thanks all for your input above. Here's another Peregrine Falcon.

Excellent

@-ST- I usually view the forum on my work laptop, so 1920x1080. Pic 1 seems like pixel overkill, but I can just about see that there is a difference in quality between 1&2 versus #3.
I will view from my MS surface pro next time, which is higher resolution, and let you know if a difference can be seen on this end.

Really like what you have posted for us to look at.
I have a pair close to home but don't like to bug them too much.
So it is always good to see these birds.
