Does anyone have any experience with Sony Pro Support? In particular the member gift. I have heard there is a gift for signing up such as a small Peak Design bag or camera strap. I have even seen such items sold on eBay. However when I called I was told you only get that after the first year. I am coming up on my first year renewal and was wondering if this is correct.

This reminds me that I need to get the A1II in for a cleaning. Maybe the A7CR as well. I don't know about any member gifts, I suppose we'll find out. I'm happy for the SPS 20% discount on Leofoto gear, anything on top of that is gravy.

Nikon has my Z8 and Z100-400mm right now. Joining NPS, I received a fairly nice NPS hoodie and a 10% off coupon for Nikon/Nikkor products (which I applied towards the Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II).

Yes my 70-200 GMIii gets some rough treatment in hockey rinks and could use a service.

I contacted Sony and spoke to a very helpful guy. To be clear I subscribe to Pro Support for the support, but hey if there is a free gift then if it’s free it’s for me lol. I learned that they used to give the gift on initial sign up but now it comes with the first year renewal. They have also cheapened it a bit. It used to be a Peak Design or similar quality product, now it’s a Sony branded notebook. However that’s on back order for 6 to 8 weeks. The support aspect has been great, the gift giving, no so much…

I received my Z8 & 100-400mm lens back from Nikon yesterday. Very impressive service, both look brand new.

I'll be filling out the online apps to send my A1II back to Sony for service today. It'll be interesting to see how the two services compare.

I'll send in the Canon R5II after I get the Sony back.

I sent my Sony 70-200 GMI in last year for a problem; it was just all locked up. They turned it around quickly for a reasonable price. I was very satisfied with the service.

Just finished the online forms - it'll be the A1II and the 200-600mm going in. I haven't had the 300mm or the 100-400mm F/4.5 long enough to justify cleaning/testing/tuning. Waiting on their confirmation email before I deploy the bubble wrap...

I shipped out the camera & lens on 9/4 and received the lens back today. The camera is done and awaiting shipment. Hopefully it goes out today and I have it on Monday.

Sony and Nikon both did an awesome job wrapping, protecting and boxing up my gear. Sony gets extra credit because they put the 200-600mm in a lens box with extra bubble wrap before they placed it in the shipping box - which was then entombed with 'OMG levels' of bubble wrap!

Return documentation was OK, describing only the basic 'Complimentary Clean & check'. Nikon was far more detailed, listing 14 specific checks and services provided on the lens and 23 on the Z8.

My Canon R5II goes in for its annual cleaning & checkup next week.
