You inspired me to take this today with the 200–600 mm. I have the focus-hold button on the lens programmed to set the shutter speed to 1/250th of a second. The intent is to pan and blur the background. You don't get much of the blur effect in this picture because the gull wasn't going very fast.

I’d mess that up for sure. I’m getting a little better at finding the subject in the viewfinder with this lens. The first few outings it was frustrating so I took my tripod but that was no better. Hopefully in time, it’s like riding a bike!

There are fewer Bald Eagles out these days, so it was a treat to see this one this morning.

Just got the Sony A1 and 100-400 lens and am just learning how to use. it. Here is an early shot I am pretty happy with.

What does that look like if you don't do the enhancement of the image? The face of the eagle looks too smooth, like it was almost painted.

I think they should have their own forum called 'Flying Mammals'. That way, ALL flying mammals could be posted together.

Oh...wait...
I’m thinking gliding possums. That would be pretty cute if I ever see one! Oh, and nude hang gliding!

Sikorsky Skycrane, commonly referred to as the Flying Grasshopper for obvious reasons. This clearly belongs in the insects thread.
