Something I and a few others have noticed is a few non Sony shots creeping in to threads, which we aren't supposed to do, so, if Tim allows, I thought I'd start a thread for people to post shots from their pre-Sony days. Please include EXIF if possible. I will start with one from my early shooting on the Nikon D7500 and Tamron 150 600 G2. This was shot through a window too, something I can't get away with on the RIV.

With a point and shoot, I pointed and shot. And got reasonably lucky.

And, I guess, it launched my current hobby (unpaid career!) of photographing carnatic (South-Indian classical) music concerts, leading to an a6000, then an a6500, now an a7iv. And a bag full of lenses and stuff.

Later I was able to give a framed print to the senior lady vocalist. Proud to say that it hangs on her wall.

This is probably a good idea. Maybe Tim can find a home for it, if he allows it to stand. I think most brand-specific forums have an 'other brands' section. Maybe it can share space with the little used A-Mount section.

Cheers for starting this Kev. I agree that we need somewhere for non Sony + mobile shots old or new. It would save me a lot of admin work. We did have such forums but they were barely used so I got rid of them recently in a bit of a decluttering and forum simplification spree. I think what I will do it setup a new forum for them in a more obvious hard to miss spot rather than a thread in this forum or at the bottom of the forum listings. With a dedicated forum it's easier for me to stop the posts coming up in the new thread notifications as I'd prefer them to not be so prominent. I'll move this thread there once it is setup. Here's a couple from the R5 :)

What would make the most sense is to rename the A-Mount open talk forum to 'Gear other than E-Mount', with a dedicated A-mount forum and a dedicated other gear forum. A-Mount might get some more notice, as I suspect the other gear forum is going to take off like a rabbit.

Some film from a few years ago.

Kodak Brownie Hawkeye
120 Ilford FP4 Plus 125
Processed with DF96 Monobath

No adjustments on these cameras. 81mm, aperture fixed at f/15, shutter is fixed-speed, aprox. 1/30th-1/50th.

Scanned using a G9 and a copy stand with a light table.

I still have a freezer full of film, from 110 to 120, 35, 116, etc. If I had a place that I could leave my developing stuff set up, I'd still shoot film. Unfortunately I have to use the kitchen sink. I don't care about a darkroom, I just scan the negatives and end up with a RAW file to process.

Here's one from my 35mm Argus STL1000. Can't recall the settings, didn't record them.

The forums at the bottom of the list have never seemed to get much love, which is why I removed quite a few recently as most were using the open talk forum anyway to post stuff about accessories, lenses etc.. Members are welcome to post A-mount images or discussion in any of our forums, A-mount is still alive just about :)

Cheers Tim. Nice shots. Obviously I couldn't set it up like that, but it's got a good bit of traffic

Which is why I suggested it. If this thread takes off it will attract people to that part of the forum.

Here...hold my beer...

The shot with the Ball Python (I think) is fantastic.

Thanks, maybe but it could be a Burmese too, funny thing with this shoot with her was it was a last minute "let's shoot on South Beach and see what happens". The snake came from some guy just hanging out on the sidewalk, and she was game to hold it for the shoot. Fun times.

If I did not buy that Nikon F so many years ago, a Minolta SRT-101 was the second option.
