Hello All! Thanks in advance for your response. I have an aging but mostly functional A7RIII. I have had a recurring issue with timelapse sequences over the past several months. Three or four images, typically in the middle of a sequence, will have purple lines in them. I thought it might be a bad card, but this shows up in both cards when writing to two SD cards at once. I have attached a subset of a recent sequence, including one good images. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? My other theories are overheating and/or buffer overload. If I have posted in the wrong place, please let me know, and I will correct.

This is the right place.

I don't know what might be causing that, but OUCH! That's not nice.

I think that's time for a trip to a repair place, together with example shots and a description of your setup.

That's ugly. I have no idea, but wish you luck and hope you'll report back.

1. Did you use mechanical or electronic shutter? The mechanical shutter might be failing. If the issue goes away when using electronic shutter then that might be the cause.
2. Did you try to transfer the files directly from the camera or use a SD card reader? The SD Card reader might start going bad, by attempting transfer from the camera mitigates that issue for troubleshooting or it might lead to finding out that the transfer bus (or some other circuit board) is going bad.

A bad SD card reader would be the one option that at least would not require a repair trip to Sony.

This looks akin to when pc display mother boards or graphics boards start to fail, but that doesn't make sense in terms of images being saved to a card.
I think what pointreyes says is good advice.
Good luck with finding the solution.
