Lunch time! This is an insurance shot and tried to move to get a better background but he didn't like me and took off with his lunch.

Purple Gallinule - One could watch these birds walk from, lilly pad to lilly pad all day. Sadly, a recent study provided by North American Breeding Bird Survey suggested that their population is declining rapidly and accounted for a rough estimate which reflected that there are only around 10,000 purple gallinules left in the world. Images Captured in SW Florida February 5, 2024 Camera: Sony Alpha 1.

I had dozens of Cedar Waxwings show up this morning along with American Robins for the first time in many years. While feeding on berries in a tree behind my house they suddenly all flew off. When I looked up there was a Red-Shouldered Hawk flying just above the trees. He landed in a tree down the road so I walked down to get some shots. He then flew off but when I returned to my driveway I saw him perched on a pole in our back yard.
