Sony FX2 Reviews
Here’s a small collection of reviews that are worth your time to watch.
Sony FX2 Overview
On May 28th, 2025 Sony announced the FX2 for the next generation of filmmakers.
The camera features the Sony A7 IV’s 33-megapixel full-frame image sensor and photographic capabilities but packs them into a more video-friendly form factor along with some nice upgrades.
Compared to its bigger brother the FX3, Sony has expanded the stills capabilities with the FX2.
You’ll now find a mode switch to quickly change between stills and video, and each mode also has its own dedicated menu.
You’ll also find a mechanical shutter, 10 fps drive speed and a flash sync speed of 1/160.
Sony has even added the ability to shoot full-resolution stills with a Log response curve, saved as either 8-bit JPEGs or 10-bit HEIFs. The View Assist feature also allows you to preview the effect of a LUT on these files.
The FX2 also introduces Sony’s AI co-processor to the company’s cinema line and improved AI autofocus system. Insects, animals, birds, vehicles and humans can all be effortlessly tracked whilst shooting video.
