Birds Birds Non-BIF Thread - Post Your Shots Here

I dunno...he was either just landing or very happy to see you... :D

I knew I had that in the kitty from a while ago. Went hunting and threw a quick colouring over it as I'm pretty sure his left thumbnail is making contact..! 🥇

Now that the weather is getting colder the great spotted woodpeckers are back in the garden.

I did not ask permission to take the photo and thus the look. I do not seem to get these birds to land in open areas to get a clean photo.

Streak throated woodpecker, very early in the morning. View attachment 28412
Charlyee, I was paging through this thread and remembered I wanted to look up 'Streak Throated Woodpecker', then forgot. I thought it was a domestic species but was surprised to see it's from the Indian subcontinent. Was this part of your recent trip abroad? It's a great shot, I've never even heard of this one before.

It's a wee bit chilly today for this little goldfinch.

Haven't posted in this thread in a while. Some more shots from the new setup. Mrs. Downy finally visited today along with the usual suspects. Still waiting for Cardinals, Jays, and I'd like to get the red bellied with the 200-600. And for some reason, the Dark Eyed Juncos are never around when I'm out there.

Today brought in sunshine and major cold. This little chubby with rust colored cap and eyeliner, is an American Tree Sparrow. I have never seen one in our backyard, so it was a pleasant Monday morning surprise.
That stuff is heading toward me with a forecast of 8-12" of snow. Why don't you help me out and just keep it up there?

Nice shot!
