Not the best shot, but I found it interesting that shooting through the big window of the living room of our old house, with the sun hitting the glass, and then crop way down there was still a usable image of this little guy after his bath, we get a good variety of birds at the fountain in the day and raccoons at night, so I might just open one of the side windows a leave and camera on a tripod sometime to see what's possible without a large pane of glass.

This is a Sora. Took about 30 minutes to find it after the first call it made which you should take a listen to. I suggest the 3rd on this audio list

Was shooting BIF when I looked 20m in front of me and this guy was there! I've wanted one of these stationery shots of a happy swallow for a while so I just pressed my programmed button on the lens to go into crop mode and started firing away as I knew I only had a few seconds. Was pretty happy with how this turned out considering that it's only 2.2mp..! 😀

Most birds prefer the outside for easy access. But that leaves you exposed. This sneaky sparrow does it a little different.

Lovely lighting coming in at his side! 🌞

Neat image mate! 👏
Cheers Clint. These are very Posey little guys and we get lovely light at this time of year when the sun decides to shine.

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
So I’ll just wave my private parts at the sun
And cover my head,
Cause crying's not for me
Nothing's worrying me

Whooper Swan. A Winter visitor to the UK, they used to arrive in massive numbers on the Ouse washes, but with the climate warming up they are staying in Germany and the like, mid point to their traditional migration path.

Beautiful!. What type of swan? Mute swan comes to mind but they have orange beaks or so I thought.
Hey Chalyee, yes its a Mute Swan. Their bills are initally colourless and they go orange as they muture. I have a few more action shots of the 'little' guy I'll post once I post process them.

So I'm doing this "Lens of the Week" Project and went out for a stroll around the boardwalk and of course spotted Alfred, my favorite Great Blue Heron (GBH) when I had the 100mm STF lens mounted on the camera instead of my 100-400mm!!!! AAAAAGGGHHH!!!! I shot some images anyway, then later tinkered with this particular one when I saw it in the computer...... Really not sure of what the heck Alfred was doing but it certainly was interesting!

As I said before I am not a bird shooter but this girl caught us by surprise. I have been going up and down the Eastern Sierra Mountains for decades and either never saw or noticed these Sage Hens. On this trip we saw four, all females. They look kind of like small turkeys. Will admit they do blend in well.
