I looked on my camera and it is the same camera and I could not find that you can format the card with a custom key or any other thing.
So I think this means you have to go through your setting each time you want to do that.
But for me the answer to your question is no. Though I have been wrong before so just do what I did and go through it all as there could have been an update that I have not put on as yet that might allow this to go on.

No you can't. I have "Format" in MyMenu so that it is easy to find.

I have it in my menu and c3 set to go to my menu.
