Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC Art APS-C Lens Announced

Sigma has announced their latest 17-40mm F1.8 DC Art lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It will be available in Sony E-mount, L, E, X and RF mounts.

The 17-40mm gives a 26-60mm full-frame equivalent field of view on APS-C cameras like the Sony A6700.

The fast and quiet autofocus is driven by the HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) and the lens incorporates an internal zoom design with minimal focus breathing, ensuring outstanding performance for both still photography and video production.

The internal zoom design also helps to keep the dust and moisture at bay and also maintains balance for gimbal usage.

The 17-40mm is the first DC lens for mirrorless to feature a dedicated aperture ring along with a switch to de-click the aperture ring.

The lens is constructed of 17 elements in 11 groups with 11 rounded aperture blades. The minimum focus distance is just 28cm and it has a 67mm filter thread.

The Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8 DC Art Lens will cost $919 in the US, €999 in Europe and £779 in the UK. It should start shipping in late July 2025.
