The new G2 lens maintains its compact size while expanding the wide end from 28mm to 25mm and preserving the 200mm telephoto range.
It offers improved image quality and faster, more precise autofocus powered by TAMRON’s VXD1 linear motor focus mechanism.
The lens is constructed from 18 elements in 14 groups and a 9-blade aperture. The 67mm filter thread is the same size that can be found on many of Tamron’s other Sony lenses.
Besides the zoom and focus rings, there’s also a single customizable function button on the lens body.
At 25mm the minimum focusing distance is 0.16m, and at the tele end 0.8m.
