Sony ZV-E1 Reviews
Here’s a small collection of written and video reviews for the ZV-E1.
DPReview awarded the ZV-E1 82% in their review and concluded with the following words:
As a vlogging platform, the ZV-E10 seemingly has a lot to offer: it shoots oversampled 4K/24p video using the full width of its sensor, features a selfie touchscreen, a good built-in directional microphone, headphone/microphone ports and class-leading video autofocus. Battery life is also top of its class and the camera is livestream ready, out of the box. Unfortunately, 4K video capture results in a distracting ‘jello effect’ for clips with movement and/or fast action. And Full HD video shows poor detail capture compared to the competition. DPReview
Sony ZV-E1 Overview
The Sony ZV-E1 was announced on March 29, 2023 and is primarily targeted towards Vloggers and creators.
This sensor allows users to shoot 4K 60p without cropping, this will be upgradable up to 4K 120p through Sony’s Creators Cloud. A free license must be downloaded from Sony’s camera upgrade website and installed in the camera. This is expected to be released in June 2023 or later. Visit the following URL for details: https://creatorscloud.sony.net/cameraupgrade/4k120p/.
The camera has a ‘dedicated AI processing chip’ that has already made an appearance in the a7R V, helping the camera to be more effective at running machine-learning-derived algorithms.
One such AI feature of the ZV-E1 is the AI-based Auto Framing for video. Using AI-based subject recognition technology, the Auto Framing feature automatically crops the frame to keep the subject in a prominent position when shooting video.
